Werner trucking driving school has an opportunity for you to start schooling with them and moving on to driver training right away. This means you get to start working sooner.
General School Quilifications
- Have good work history
- Have a valid CDL Class A (HAZMAT not required but encouraged)
- Be at least 21 years old
- Meet DOT requirements and pass a DOT physical, which includes substance screening
- Be able to fulfill the physical demands of the job
- Be a graduate of a truck driving school approved by Drivers Management
- Have a safe driving record
Options For Trucking School At Werner After You Have Your CDL Licence
You have two training options once you have attained your CDL.
Path One: You can attend the orientation at the terminal closest to your house, then you are assigned a trainer. After you have successfully completed half of your truck driver trainer program, you can go home for 5 days of paid home time. Werner will pay your bus fare back to the closest terminal from your home. Then you will be assigned a new trainer to complete the second half of your long-distance trucker training. After you have completed the program, you are expected to pass a road test to become a qualified driver.
Path Two: You attend the orientation at the terminal closest to your house and then complete the minimum of 275 hours of driving without the 5 days paid home time, pass your road test to become a qualified driver and then you will be assigned your own truck. After you make your first successful delivery, you will receive a $500 bonus.
